Good pizza - child's play

Since kk got me onto all the reality cooking shows that are on TV, I've become addicted. I've been watching Top Chef, Master Chef, Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares.

Little good has been watching them with me and really enjoys them. He's always enjoyed helping me with the cooking and is now starting to yell -
Yes, chef.
No, chef.
Sorry, chef.
Thank you, chef.
I'm not f**king stupid, chef.
etc, etc.

Tonight he decided he would cook pizza.

Mix together flour, yeast and a pinch of salt.
Add a little honey and oil.

Add warm water.

In with the fingers and thourghly mix the dough.

Knead the dough on a floured bench.

Cover the dough in a warm damp cloth and wait for it to double in size.

Peel and dice onions and garlic.

Add oil and fry in microwave.

Chop Italian sausage and bacon.

Spread dough over lightly oiled pizza pan.

Cover base with tomato paste.

Add fresh herbs and fried garlic and onions.

Add baby corn and Italian sausage.

Cover with cheese.

Top with black olives and bacon.

Season with black pepper and bake in a very hot oven for twenty minutes.

Twenty minutes to set the table and make the salad. (YES, CHEF)

The pressure is on and getting hot so off comes the shirt.

Dinner for three.

Although he has helped me many times this was the first time he'd done it alone. An hour and a half from start to on the table, pretty good for an eight year old.

I am well and truly impressed! It looks very yummy and I know pizza!

Little good stuck with the program for that much time and made something delightful for his mom and dad. You're doubly lucky that you have something like this you can share with your child and something the child wants to share with you.

Can't wait for the day when he goes ..."Dad, you used to much f***king oregano! What in the f**k were you thinking!"

Very nice indeed B Good mate....my little one actually did a 'Gordon' the other day when I was making pancakes.....lemon, syrup....sugar.....DONE!!!!
