Default Not Tightening The Belt

What are the things in your life in LOS that you simply won't economise on no matter the price?

For me:

Electricity bill. Fuck the 25 degrees on the aircon. I run my 3 units like fridges. I like to be comfortable at home. Just got this months bill. 4000 baht.

Holidays. Sometimes the thought of another hour in front of a group of students with an encouraging smile on my face is too much to bear so it's holiday time for me and the family. I won't skimp on a holiday. It's what we look forward to. I always holiday in LOS and it's got to be true 5 star resort minimum 5k baht a night plus. I love Khon Kaen but have to get way at least 2 or 3 times a year.

What about you?

Yeah bread and bakery items. I love bread. Fuck that 7-11 or the Chinese bakery stuff. I always but at the bakery in the Pullman hotel in Khon Kaen. Slightly pricey but not too bad. 80 or 90 baht for a slice of cheesecake.

One good thing about being in BKK, good bread is pretty easy to find.

Will have to admit, during the day, we keep the a/c around 25, but at night turn it down...makes snuggling nice!

I don't skimp on food. I want real beef, not that nasty shit that comes from Asian cows.

That's the one slight thing about Khon Kaen. You can get most of the stuff you want. I live in the sticks but within 20-30 minutes could be buying an I-Phone. It's just that those little western things we take for granted like a decent Greek or Mexican meal, a really loaded hamburger or a true full English breakfast (and fuck what the expat bars serve up) that Esan just can't provide.

Concur...Australian beef. I don't even bother with that Thai-French stuff.

I love a freezing cold bedroom. Get under the duvet and occasionally stick one foot out into the cold air before diving back under again. And during rainy season when it's pissing down outside and you're under the covers listening to the storm....heaven

Can buy the stuff to do that at home here. From my experience the majority of the Mexican stuff here sucks from restaurants. I do it at home.
