• Kota Kinabalu - Photos And Sightseeing

We drove up here on the 15th. took most of the day due to major backlogs at the 2 Bruneian border posts. also came close to bashing some chink in a fortuner who blatantly tried to jump the queue (with us as first in line after waiting over an hour).....the prick drove up (skipping at least 50 cars) beside me and then slowly tried to edge his way in front, i moved forward to block him and then...

    • Harbin China Ice Festival

Some pics from around Harbin. They've got a walking street with lots of shops and sculptures. On the weekends they have traditional dancing. Unfortunately it was only old birds performing.

Firehouse - Located on Sukhumvit Soi 11 We arrived during the lunch rush, only to find the empty, which I love as I get to take pictures without pissing anyone off. It's a really nice place with tons of firehouse memorabilia all over....classy even, which made me wonder how they...

    • Counting In Bahasa Indonesian Using Motorcycle Passengers

I, as you know, moved countries. I firmly believe, anyone migrating should do their best to learn the local language. That in mind, a lesson about counting in Indonesian seemed reasonable. 0 = Nol 1 = Satu ...

    • Making Burgers at Bangkok's Burger Factory - Ekkamai Soi 10

Today we visited the Burger Factory - Ekkamai Soi 10. It was a special and unique burger dining experience! The place is kind of a relaxed hi-so sort of place dedicated to the concept that beer and burgers are one of God's gifts to the world. I'm already planning my next visit. They bake their own buns and grind their own meat...

  • New York with the Thai girlfriend for the 2011/2012 holiday season

We will be leaving for New York for a couple of weeks to celebrate the 2011/2012 holiday season, shortly. I’ll try to post pictures (maybe a short Vimeo Video) of Time Square during 2012 New Years Eve Celebration (Lady Gaga is scheduled to be there and I expect a young crowd there: http://www.timessquarenyc.org/events...ule/index.aspx), but it will be late for most of you, who will see your New Year come in before we do.

We’ve been to New York together once before, but it wasn’t during the holiday season. The girlfriend seems to think this US city is the nicest she has ever visited and one of the reasons why we are returning. We’ll see what her opinion is after she feels that cold weather. If it does snow during our stay, it will be the first time I will see/feel snow.

While in New York we plan on seeing two plays (Book of Mormon, and Spiderman) and attending one concert (Gov’t Mule) besides visiting Time Square New Years Eve, visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art (again), Statue of Liberty (just the island, because I think it is closed for a year for some inside renovations), Ellis Island, the 9/11 Memorial and spending more time in the park (trying to teach the girlfriend to ice skate). We might also try to get to Little Italy and China Town for some good food.

I will usually add a part about how you or your spouse/girlfriend can get a visa to visit the places we go in my travel threads, but all I can say this time is good luck. As I understand it’s not easy getting a visa to visit the states.

I will do another cost breakdown at the end of the thread, without show tickets, air travel and apartment rental costs because they could vary depending on the season/year.

I will also be posting a short video of each set of pictures in each post so the viewer can view the pictures I post without having to log into Subzero.

A video that might help with your holiday spirit,....
